Naughty Dog Updates Fans On The Last of Us Part II Multiplayer

It’s been a while since we have heard anything regarding the multiplayer “factions-esque” portion for The Last of Us Part II, but Naughty Dog has offered an update (if very vague) regarding where its at in development. Originally, the multiplayer section of the game was intended to be ready for the launch of the game when it was released in June 2020, but in September 2019, Naughty Dog revealed that this wouldn’t be the case and that the team would be focusing on the single-player aspect and that the multiplayer side of things would be developed separately and would be released at a later date.

Since then, news regarding this mode has been pretty sparse until ND’s senior communications manager Rochelle Snyder spoke about the mode during the studio’s annual The Last of Us Day.

"We see the community comments as many of you clamor for multiplayer and want updates. For now, we'll say that we love what the team is developing and want to give them time to build out their ambitious project, we'll reveal more when it's ready!

"To that end, we've been busy growing our team inside the kennel since The Last of Us Part 2 launched and are currently in full swing of hiring for MP-related positions (hint hint), so if you or somebody you know qualifies for anything you see on our jobs page, apply!"

It seems like we’re going to have to wait a little while longer before we have any new information regarding the online multiplayer side of The Last of Us Part II.
