The highly anticipated trailer and various details (including the release date) for the remake of The Last of Us has officially been leaked online. The game is officially called The Last of Us Part 1 according to the leaks and it will launch on September 2 on the PlayStation 5 with a PC version arriving later on down the line.
In a strange twist, a trailer for the game was leaked by the PlayStation Direct website on a posting. Although the original posting has since been deleted, you can still view the trailer in all its glory (at the time of writing). As well as the base game, the remake also includes the fantastic DLC prequel, Left Behind. In the since removed listing, it states that the remake is
“a total overhaul of the original experience, faithfully reproduced but incorporating modernised gameplay, improved controls and expanded accessibility options. Plus, feel immersed with improved effects and enhanced exploration and combat.”
Two versions of the game will be available to purchase with the standard edition and also a Firefly Version which will include a steenbok case, copies of The Last of Us: American Dreams comics (issues 1-4) and some early-in-game DLC.
With all the leaks online, we expect to see some official confirmation from PlayStation very soon. You can view the boxart for both the standard and the Firefly Edition and view the trailer, below.
